Locking your online banking

You can lock your online banking if it has been compromised. This stops anyone, including you, from logging in.

All devices logged into your online banking, including desktops and mobile devices connected to the BNZ app, will be logged out and will not be able to log in again. You’ll be locked out as well.

You’ll still be able to use your physical cards, as well as Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Upcoming payments (such as automatic payments, direct debits, or any other scheduled payments or transfers) will still go out as planned.

You’ll need to visit a branch to unlock access.

In Internet Banking

  1. Log in to Internet Banking.
  2. Go to Settings in the menu, then under ‘Security’ select Lock online banking.

In the BNZ app

  1. Log in to the BNZ app.
  2. Go to Settings in the menu, then under ‘Security’ select Restrict access.
  3. Select Lock online banking.

Unlocking online banking

You’ll need to call us to make an appointment at a branch. We’ll confirm your identity in person and restore your access.

We may also give you a new access number for logging in to Internet Banking.
