Acceptable documents for people over 65 years old
For customers aged 65 and over, we’re able to use additional methods of verifying your name, date of birth, and address. Please refer to the list below for acceptable documentation if you’re unable to meet standard ID and address verification guidelines.
Verify your identity with any of the following
Your name
- A driver licence (this may be expired in the last 12 months) or a valid, current passport.
- Any correspondence issued by a New Zealand Government Department or any agency acting on the authority of the New Zealand Government (such as a District Health Board). This could include a letter from IRD or MSD, a hospital, a registered medical practitioner, or a SuperGold Card (with your name embossed).
- If you’re also a customer at another registered bank, the equivalent of a customer profile printed from that bank and confirmed as being accurate by one of their staff.
- Birth certificate.
Your date of birth
- A driver licence (this may be expired in the last 12 months) or a valid, current passport.
- A letter issued by a manager within a rest home, a hospital or registered medical practitioner confirming your date of birth on their records.
- If you’re also a customer at another registered bank, the equivalent of a customer profile printed from the bank and confirmed as being accurate by one of their staff.
- Birth certificate.
Your address
