If you’re new to BNZ and need a transaction account as well as a merchant facility, we’ll help you open an account that best fits your business needs based on how many transactions you make a month.
If you’re new to BNZ, you’ll need to provide additional information about your business. You can complete your application within 30 days. If it isn’t completed within this period, you’ll need to start a new application.
If you’ve started an application, continue by logging in to our website.
You can apply for a merchant facility online if your business is incorporated or operating in New Zealand and is a:
Start your application through the signup website. Tell us about yourself and your business, and which merchant facility and account type you’d like to open.
If necessary, we’ll contact you to confirm your details and set up your merchant payment facility.
If you aren’t eligible to apply for a merchant facility online, send us an enquiry. Include a few details about yourself and your business. We’ll call you back to talk through some options.

If you’re applying for Payap, we’ll need to share your details with Centrapay. By applying, you agree to sharing your information with Centrapay, including your name, business name, address, trading name, and email address. Once Centrapay has your information, it will be subject to the Centrapay privacy policy. To use Payap, you’ll need to have a compatible terminal model and agree to Centrapay’s terms and conditions. Check if your terminal model is compatible at centrapay.com.
We may share any information in your application with the relevant parties in offering this merchant facility to you, where it will be subject to their privacy policies.
