Blocking overseas card purchases

If you’re overseas and don’t want to use your card in stores or at ATMs, you can put a block on that in the BNZ app. That means you won’t be able to tap or swipe to pay in stores while you're overseas, or use your card at ATMs. If you have Apple Pay or Google Pay™ set up on your phone, this will continue to work as normal. You can unblock your card anytime in the app.

To block overseas card purchases:

1. Log in to the BNZ app, tap on Menu and select Cards.
2. Tap on the card you want to change.
3. Under Shopping overseas, just tap the button.
4. To unblock it, tap the button again.
