Setting up the BNZ app
Our BNZ App (for iOS and Android) comes with an extra layer of security that keeps your data safe, and lets us know it’s really you doing your banking. The app automatically authenticates when you log in on your device, so you don’t need to use your NetGuard card.
How to set up your app
The first time you use the BNZ app you’ll either need to enter:
- secure codes we send via SMS and email; or
- co-ordinates from your NetGuard card or token.
These steps are how we confirm it’s you. You’ll only have to do this once, then you can log in using only your password, or your 5-digit PIN, Touch ID, Face ID, or Fingerprint login.
To learn more about setting up your BNZ app, watch our video or use our downloadable guides.
Using multiple devices
You can set up the personal BNZ app on four devices at a time, and you can set up the business BNZ app on two devices.
Lost or stolen mobile devices
Call us immediately on 0800 999 269 (or +64 4 494 7153 if you’re overseas) so we can deactivate your BNZ app. Alternatively, you can deactivate a lost or stolen device from another device you have set up. Just go to Manage Devices, under Settings in the BNZ app.
Keep your NetGuard card or token
Hang on to your NetGuard card or token as you may need it in Internet Banking. If you use Internet Banking for Business, you’ll need your NetGuard token to log in.
Secure codes
When you first set up the app, you would have been asked to either provide secure codes from a text message and email, or your NetGuard co-ordinates. This created a secure token on your device, which is how we know that it’s you using it. It’s also why you can use your BNZ app to authenticate in Internet Banking.
