Understanding how BNZ Points work

With BNZ Rewards, you’ll earn BNZ Points when you use your BNZ Advantage credit card for purchases.^

Any BNZ Points you earn will be added to your balance within five business days of the eligible purchase. There’s no limit on how many BNZ Points you can earn on eligible purchases.

There may be a limit on bonus points earned through special promotions. Any bonus points earned will be added to your balance based on the terms of the promotion.

What they can be redeemed for

BNZ Points can be redeemed for rewards such as travel, eGift cards, cash back to an eligible BNZ account^, or transfers to other participating loyalty programmes. You can redeem your BNZ Points through the BNZ Rewards portal by logging in to Internet Banking or the BNZ app.

BNZ Points expiry

BNZ Points expire 3 years from the time they’re earned, on 31 December. For example, BNZ Points earned in July 2023 will expire on 31 December 2026, if not redeemed. 

When redeeming BNZ Points for rewards, the oldest BNZ Points are redeemed first. 

You can view your BNZ Points balance and any expiring BNZ Points through Internet Banking, the BNZ app, or the BNZ Rewards portal. We may remind customers to redeem their BNZ Points before they expire.

If you close all of your personal accounts with BNZ and are no longer eligible for BNZ Rewards, you’ll lose any remaining BNZ Points that you haven’t redeemed yet.
