Updating your tax residency status in the BNZ app

If your tax residency status changes, you can update it easily in the BNZ app.

How to edit your tax residency

  1. Log in to your BNZ app.
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Select Your details.
  5. Under the heading ‘Tax details’, select Tax residency.
  6. On the next screen tap Update tax residency to open the declaration.
  7. Select Yes or No to the question ‘Are you currently a tax resident of a country or jurisdiction other than New Zealand?’.
  8. Tick the box to confirm you’ve read the declaration and all details are correct, then tap Submit.
  9. You’ll receive a confirmation message that your tax residency has been updated.
